Welcome to my world
Welcome to My World
Welcome to the Alkainos website!
What is Alkainos?
Alkainos is my homebrew fantasy world—a passion project that’s been simmering away in the background for years. I’ve been into fantasy and sci-fi since my early teens (which, let’s just say, wasn’t yesterday), and this is something I’ve always wanted to create for my own enjoyment.
That said, I thought it might be fun—and motivating—to document the process and share it publicly. There’s something satisfying about seeing your world take shape online, and who knows, it might even be of interest to someone else out there.

How much is developed so far?
Not a huge amount, to be honest. I’ve got a few loose ideas, some rough concepts and a general sense of direction. I actually started this journey a couple of years ago—set up a similar site, made a few maps, wrote a couple of short stories—and then life got in the way. It’s always been lurking at the back of my mind, though.
Now, with the explosion of AI tools, I thought it was a good time to pick it back up. I know AI is a bit of a loaded topic for some, but I’m quite excited to see how it can help me move things forward—especially since I’m working solo and juggling other projects.

Where’s it going from here?
Right now, I plan to throw up a bunch of posts—thoughts, ramblings, images—whatever’s in my head at the time. Nothing is set in stone. I’ll be exploring ideas and documenting how they evolve.
I see it splitting into two main threads:
- The stream – unfiltered blog posts, concept sketches, spontaneous thoughts.
- The guide – a more structured version of the world as it starts to take shape.
The guide will be versioned. It’ll probably live in a rough “0.x” state for quite a while, until it feels like there’s enough consistency to call it version 1.0. Maybe at that point I’ll turn it into a nice-looking PDF or something. Eventually, I’d love to develop the timeline and push the world forward—but that’s a way off yet.

What’s it all for?
Mainly? My own enjoyment. I’m not going to stress too much about contradictions or inconsistencies early on—if I like an idea, I’ll run with it. That said, I’d love to hear from anyone following along. Feedback would be brilliant.
If it does grow into a more complete world, there are loads of things I could do with it. For example:
- Roleplaying material – maybe it could become a setting for DMs, or even form the basis of my own RPG system (which I dabbled with back in my teens).
- Games – I’ve built a couple of games in the past, including a mobile text adventure engine and a Kings of Chaos-style browser game I played with mates. I’d love to do something similar again, and a solid world to build from would make it all the more fun.
- Something else? Who knows.

What’s next?
The plan is simple: start writing. Get a few more posts up and see how the site takes shape. The next few will probably be a mix—some mythology, maybe a bit on cities, languages, influences… wherever the mood takes me.
