Corsáva

The Seafaring Jewel of Alkainos

Corsáva is a proud coastal kingdom in the world of Alkainos, renowned for its seafaring legacy, merchant dynasties, and tradition of exploration. Drawing cultural inspiration from Portugal, Corsáva is a land of salt-laden winds, sun-bleached cliffs, bustling ports, and ancient inland estates. Though trade across Alkainos is conducted in Low Vala, Corsáva maintains its own melodic Lusophone-inspired tongue, spoken with pride by its people.

Once the launchpoint for voyages into the unknown, Corsáva’s ships have crossed oceans, founded colonies, and even birthed the Free Isles, a notorious pirate haven established centuries ago by a Corsávan outcast.

Geography & Regions

Corsáva stretches across varied terrain—from wind-lashed coasts and fertile heartlands to arid highlands and sacred island chains. Its eight mainland provinces and two island territories each offer a distinct identity:

Mainland Provinces:

  • Varluzia – Rugged cliffs and fishing ports; famed for shipwrights and stormy seas.

  • Montevelha – Mountainous and mystical, home to ancient temples and old traditions.

  • Bravora – Fiercely independent northeastern highlands, known for militias and duels.

  • Alvarenta – The fertile central heartland of Corsáva’s nobility and agriculture.

  • Dornaval – Western peninsula steeped in explorer lore; birthplace of the Free Isles’ founder.

  • Solmaréa – Warm southwestern coast rich in coral, music, and artistic culture.

  • Rialtessa – River-crossed trade hub with canals, markets, and the royal capital.

  • Taurença – Southeastern frontier of ruins and mystics; Corsáva’s silk and spice province.

Island Territories:

  • Ilhas de Salvora – Sacred southern isles of watchtowers and ancestral monasteries.

  • Arquipélago do Céu Frio – Harsh northern archipelago of whalers, exiles, and cold-sea resources.

Capital

Porto Véscaro, nestled in Rialtessa, is Corsáva’s political and cultural heart—a bustling coastal capital of tiled domes, open-air markets, and grand sea-facing citadels.

Legacy of the Sea

Corsáva’s identity is inseparable from the sea. Its maritime academies, wind-blessing ceremonies, and naval prestige echo throughout Alkainos. The legendary explorer Louren d’Ossa, exiled from Corsáva, sailed into myth and founded the Free Isles—a tale that still stirs pride and controversy alike.
